Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall: Kodo Again in Zagreb
Japanese drummer ensemble Kodo, which is already familiar to the Zagreb audience, will visit the city again as a part of their tour.
World-famous Japanese drummers Kodo will perform at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb on 24 March as a part of their tour One Earth Tour 2024: Warabe.
Their new programme entitled Warabe! is one of the two routines devised to honour 40th anniversary of this Japanese taiko drumming troupe. The name is derived from the sign for a child. The programme is based on the troupe’s usual repertoire and aesthetics from their early days. This production blends simple forms of taiko expression which brought recognition to Kodo and these are unique sound, resonance, and physicality which continue to make them “children of the drum at heart”.
This year’s tour was preceded by One Earth Tour 2022: Tsuzumi two years ago which was named after the sign for a drum. Due to the thrill the previous tour aroused and the echoes of this year’s tour, the audience in Zagreb is eager to attend the performance of renowned Japanese ensemble Kodo which is also proven by the fact that the tickets have long been sold out.
