51st Ambienta: A New Perspective of Interior Design
Ambienta marks the start of its sixth decade with new projects which stress the link between the furniture industry, design and cultural heritage.
The 51st edition of Ambienta, a specialised fair of furniture, interior design and furnishing, brings a new perspective to visitors by connecting industry, design and cultural heritage. In the period between 17 and 20 October the Zagreb Fair will become a meeting place of business people from wood and furniture industry. During four days of the fair, they will present novelties in interior design, but also speak about current topics, exchange ideas and similar in expert meetings.
In a separate Design Zone, visitors will have a chance to see designer furniture, while Art Box will gather artists, gallerists and art collectors.
However, a part of the exhibits of this year’s edition of Ambienta will be transferred from their usual setting at the fair to cultural institutions in Zagreb. This is part of the project Ambienta & Museums. In cooperation with the Klovićevi dvori Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Ethnographic Museum, furniture industry is connected with a rich cultural heritage of Croatia using the perspective of modern design. As a practical confirmation and illustration of the link, exhibition spaces will be set up in the lobby of the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery showcasing furniture of Croatian manufacturers, accompanied by educational documentary films about the Zagreb Fair.
The new attraction of this year’s edition of Ambienta is the Exhibition of Large Formats: 100 Painters of the 21st Century presenting a private collection of paintings by Croatian painters for the first time.
ArhiBau, the Construction Culture and Sustainable Development Fair, will take place during the same period.
