34th Animafest: The Best of World Animation
At Animafest, fans of animated films will get a chance to see more than 350 film titles, thirty of which are world premieres.
The 34th World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb will take place from 3 to 8 June. It is one of the most renowned and second oldest festival of animation in the world, which sprung from the tradition of the famous Zagreb School of Animation. Animafest is also the only Croatian festival of A category and it is a part of the prestigious list of festivals whose winners are nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film.
More than 350 movie titles in competition, thematic and retrospective programmes are to be screened this year with more than thirty world premieres. Around 400 visitors from abroad will take part in the festival, presenting the best of the world animated short and feature productions suitable to all generations of Croatian audience and foreign visitors.
An international symposium on animation entitled Animafest Scanner will also take place as part of the festival, as well as many additional professional, educational and entertaining activities.
The festival, which will mark the life in Zagreb in early June, will take place at the Students’ Centre, the Kinoteka Cinema, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Cultural and Informative Centre KIC, the Tuškanac Summer Stage and the galleries Kranjčar and Štira.
