11th edition of Summer at the MCA: Attractive Multimedia Programme
This year once again the Summer at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) gathers some of the most popular Croatian and regional contemporary artists and performers and its attractive programme confirms the status of a multimedia brand in culture.
The 11th Summer at the MCA will attract numerous fans of contemporary artistic expressions and welcome most popular artists and performers in the region until 12 July.
Every Friday and Saturday in the afternoon and evening there are interesting exhibitions, film screenings, dance acts and concerts of best rock and art bands from the region on the repertoire of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA). According to many, this year’s programme is one of the best and most attractive in the last several years. It includes various forms of art and pop culture, which reflects the fact that this manifestation follows the idea of a complete artistic experience known under the term Gesamtkunstwerk.
From the beginning of the Summer at MCA, more than 170 programmes took place, of which 60 concerts, 55 film screenings, 15 large exhibitions, 30 performances, 12 literary evenings, theatre shows as a part of Eurokaz, dance performances of Antisezona and many others.
The Museum of Contemporary Art was established in 1954 and to this day it gathered more than 12 thousand art pieces of Croatian and foreign artists in its collections. As of 2009 it is located in a modern building in the Novi Zagreb neighbourhood and today it is one of its symbols.
