Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall: Gipsy Kings ft. Tonino Baliardo in Zagreb
Gipsy Kings, legendary Roma music performers, led by their founder and head figure Tonino Baliardo, are to perform at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall.
Gipsy Kings, world-renowned performers of Roma music, will give a concert at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb on 20 November. They will be accompanied by Tonino Baliardo, one of the founders and leaders of the band, world-famous first of all as a guitar virtuoso and composer. He is also the author of some of the greatest hits of the band, such as Bamboleo and Djobi Djoba.
The ensemble was founded in 1978 in France, and are known for a particular music expression combining rumba, flamenco, salsa and traditional Roma music.
Ten talented musicians, members of the band, have so far sold more than 20 million albums. They released 15 studio albums, three of which received Grammy nominations. They won a Grammy in 2014 for the album Savor Flamenco in the category of the Best World Music. Recently Tonino Baliardo himself was awarded with a platinum record for his duet with Takagi Ketro and a triple platinum record with Ingobernable for a duet with Tangano.
For a number of years, Gipsy Kings have been performing at the world’s most prestigious concert halls. They regularly earn praise from both audience and critics for their music and excellent entertainment with hits such as Bamboleo, Djobi, Djobi, Volare and others as well as songs from their new album Renaissance. This will certainly happen again at the concert in Zagreb.
