Advent Zagreb, which won the title of “the best Christmas Market in Europe” for three consecutive years, awaits you once again this year, bringing Christmas cheer that knows no limits in terms of time, age nor space.
In the Advent Zagreb festivities, which will take place from 29 November 2025 to 7 January 2026, light and song are the important threads that connect people, celebrate togetherness and increase joy.
Romantic melodies of holiday songs, from traditional Croatian Christmas carols to timeless songs from the entire world, come to you from squares, streets and balconies, performed by excellent musicians. Most importantly, they leave a mark on every heart. With the creative interplay of Christmas lights, the areas of the Upper Town, Zrinjevac Park, King Tomislav Square, European Square and the Grič tunnel turn into a grand stage. They are connected with recognisable atmosphere, creativity, but also activities that have attracted citizens and many visitors of all generations for years. This is what makes Advent in Zagreb recognisable; its emotions, joy and connection, which is so important.
There are also typical Christmas stands with a varied offer of souvenirs and artistic items, but also tasty food, fried yeast dough delicacy fritule and mulled wine, where everything smells like cinnamon and clove and is marked by mingling and joy.
This year again, the already iconic ice-skating rink at King Tomislav Square is a special attraction and a place where to meet, socialise and experience winter sports. In the evening Zrinjevac Park offers a unique atmosphere filled with light and romance. Every street, square and park have their own authentic and creative story.
There are special programmes and activities intended for children as well as families. Theatre shows, children’s areas, little trains and carousels, fairy tales that become alive before the eyes of children bring them joy and increase expectations. There is a good chance for special encounters with Saint Nicholas and Santa Claus.
