Broadway Dance Show (premiere)

Broadway Dance Show is an unforgettable explosion of movement inspired by the most famous Broadway dance styles. In an original concept, the author and director Tihana Strmečki brings compositions from the world-famous 20th and 21st century musicals in a dramaturgically elaborate structure, which are interpreted through dance art by the top ballet ensemble of the Komedija Theatre with the support of excellent additional artists specially selected at a large audition. From Bob Fosse-style jazz, through typically lavish Broadway style, rhythmic tap dancing, to more modern fusion expression, the show's ensemble showcases the dazzling stage splendor, dizzying sequences and timeless energy of the musical.

The Theatre's records state: “Komedija has always been a place for dance, since its beginning in 1950, sometimes in the form of solo full-length ballets, more often in musicals in support of the main plot.” Broadway Dance Show puts dance art front and central. The ensemble composed of sixteen virtuoso dancers, with its technical precision, stage charisma and expressiveness, elevates every choreography to a high artistic level.

The show not only celebrates the dance heritages of Komedija and Broadway, but also modernizes it, providing audiences with an exciting and emotionally rich stage experience.
